Mixed Feelings is an independent trio, born as an acoustic duo in 2016 in the province of Cosenza, founded by the artistic meeting between Angelo Pellicano (vocals) and Christian Tamburi (guitars, backing vocals).
2018 and 2019 marked an important moment for the duo with the release of the singles "Sterile Armonia" and "Si Affaccia... L'ennesima. In November 2019 they opened the concert of Radiodervish in their only date in Calabria.
However, it was in 2023 that Mixed Feelings experienced a real transformation with the entry of Fabiano Perrupato ("Wood's Way"), multi-instrumentalist and producer, into the creative core of the group. The meeting of the three personalities gave birth to an innovative project whose different artistic origins converge in the EP "Fasi", containing three unreleased songs that represent a new sound and stylistic direction of the trio.
At the end of January 2025, MF released a new version of "Sterile Armonia", which reveals the emotional depth of the Calabrian trio. In this reinterpretation, the song turns into an ode to the fragile beauty of everyday life, a delicate exploration of our existence suspended between the weight of routine and the desire for an unexpected redemption.
In the indolent Calabrian province this little gem appears by grace received, enriching the Italian indie rock scene with a clear example of true underground, subterranean, almost carbonaro for the impossibility of representing themselves adequately given the absence of a stimulating cultural environment and the asphyxiating presence of places where they can produce and play music. (Yes, we stayed here, I know it's abnormal). A little gem self-produced by the three boys from Castrovillari who express their talent with great determination to achieve their artistic goals, understood as an affirmation of their personality and their creativity. Their music belongs to rock culture and draws inspiration from the many important listenings of different and possible music and sounds, made their own over the years. The post-rock guitars come directly from Louisville mixed with Pixies-style distortions and the tender and innocent voice transports the listener towards the dream of a longed-for Arcadia, all supported by discreet and intelligent electronics. A music that represents attempts not to derail in solitude, to give material form to desire and to escape the muddy waters of the dramatic experience of the province with its conventions and its social conditioning, "a strip of land now arid and without a why" they sing in Incompiuta. Mixed Feelings are not satisfied with the spaces granted but go beyond by making available to those who listen areas of experience and poetic visions that materialize in music and open the doors to dreams. A band that deserves attention because it shuns the trivialization and decay of what is transmitted and that is rampant in talent shows, a standardized music that does not leave a mark but only produces a barbarization of tastes, instead MF recognize the centrality of music and the enormous potential of sound and trace alternative listening maps to return to grasp again those poetic and spiritual characteristics typical of the sound field.
